Houston Methodist: MyChart Introduction

My Role: VFX, Design, Animation, Audio Mix, Color Grade

The video team was tasked with creating an introductory video for Houston Methodist’s switch to MyChart for their patient portal well before the actual app and interface was finalized. An interesting challenge, working with the IT team to visualize an interface that they had just started to build while also having it be actually visually interesting.

The project required a pretty elaborate production, one of the team’s largest at the time. My role during the production (aside from managing the onset data storage) was to create/manage storyboards, to advise on the few screen-replacement shots and helping the director maintain negative space for the graphics. The director (our team’s manager) completed the narrative edit then handed it off to me for finalizing the graphic design, creating the animations, vfx, and completing the audio mix and color grade.

Interesting Thingy: This video was graded in Adobe’s much maligned SpeedGrade, which was thankfully retired to a farm upstate.
